The annual maximum limit on out-of-pocket medicine costs is the maximum amount you pay for medicines during a calendar year (1 January–31 December).
Kela reimbursements for medicinal oxygen
Medicinal oxygen and the rental of related equipment are covered under Kela’s basic reimbursement scheme. Kela reimburses 40% of the costs of medicinal oxygen and equipment rental once the initial deductible of €70.33 has been met. No initial deductible is charged for persons under 18 years of age.
The initial deductible and the costs incurred for medicinal oxygen count toward Kela’s annual maximum limit on out-of-pocket medicine costs. In 2026, this limit is €636.12.
Once the annual maximum limit on out-of-pocket medicine costs has been reached, invoices can be directed from Woikoski directly to Kela by power of attorney.
