Initial copayment and annual copayment for prescription drug coverage in 2027

The medication cap, also known as the annual copayment, is the maximum amount you pay for Kela-reimbursable medications during a calendar year (Jan. 1–Dec. 31).

Medical oxygen and the rental of related equipment are covered by Kela’s basic reimbursement. Kela reimburses 40% of these costs once the annual deductible for the calendar year has been met. In 2027, the initial copayment will be €71.92. No initial copayment is charged for those under 18 years of age.

The initial copayment and the copayments paid for medications covered by Kela contribute to the annual copayment limit, also known as the medication cap. In 2027, the medication cap will be €650.56.

Once the prescription drug coverage limit has been reached, invoices can be forwarded directly from Woikoski to Kela via a power of attorney.
